Review: Apivita Cleansing Creamy Foam

Choosing a good cleanser can be a tough job. We need something powerful enough to take off our makeup and sebum but gentle enough to not leave our skin tight and dry. And I think I found such a product. So, today I will review an Apivita Cleansing Creamy Foam that I’ve been using for the last couple of months.

About Apivita

Apivita is a Greek brand that has been around since 1979. Apivita is a Certified B Corporation which means they meet the highest social and environmental standards. Also, they give 1% For The Planet from their suncare & e-commerce sales.

The beginning of Apivita

On their site, they state:

Inspired by the eternal synergy between bees and Greek nature, APIVITA places its passion and commitment to the environment at the heart of everything we do. Just like the beehive, our company is a living organism that never stops creating and distributing value:

value for the environment, value for society, and value for the economy.

The word APIVITA is derived from the Latin words APIS (Bee) and VITA (Life) and means “life of the bee”.

As we can see, there are no parabens, SLS, mineral oils or silicones.

But there are some essential oils in there. Although they state that it is suitable for sensitive skin, I would still recommend doing a patch test in the case of very sensitive skin. Or get a tester if you can. Essential oils can irritate sensitive skin, so there is never enough carefulness.

The presence of essential oils, especially lavender, gives the product a specific scent that can be overpowering at the beginning. At least I found it a bit strong when I started using this product, but now, after a few months, I don’t mind it. I enjoy washing my face with this cleanser. It gives me a nice spa-ish, relaxing feel in my skincare routine.

In the ingredient list above, I’ve highlighted a few ingredients for their specific purposes.

Lavender is known for its calming properties, propolis is an excellent antiseptic, and olive oil is in it to provide moisture.

Packaging, texture and use

Packaging

This product comes in a sturdy dark brown plastic bottle with a pump. The pump dispenses the perfect amount of product for one wash, so there is no wasting of product.

The bottle is made from 50% of post-consumer recycled plastic, and it is 100% recyclable, and so is the label. But the pump is not, so you should separate the pump from the bottle before recycling.

Texture

I would describe the texture of this face wash as a thick creamy foam. On the bottle, it says foam, but I think it is more of a cream than foam. It reminds me of liquid hand soap.

Use

There is not much to be said about how to use face wash. You wet your face, pump out a pump of the wash in your hands, lather it between your palms and gently massage your face with it and then rinse it off.

But what is great about this product is that it is excellent at removing eye makeup as well. It does not irritate the eyes in the slightest.

Who is Apivita Cleansing Creamy Foam for

This product is suitable for everyone. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can say much more than this. Above all, it is an excellent product for people with sensitive and dry skin. Along with them, anyone else would only benefit from it.

My experience

As I mentioned in my previous posts, my skin is sensitive and acne-prone. It was also dehydrated before I learnt how to properly take care of it.

I’ve been using this face wash for several months, and I can confirm it’s good for sensitive skin. It didn’t agitate nor dry out my skin any further.

As for the cleansing properties of this product, I always do a double cleanse in the evening, so I use an oil-based cleanser before this one. But that doesn’t diminish the fact that this thing removes everything! All the dirt and melted makeup mixed with oil disappear with the Apivita Cleansing Creamy Foam! And my eyes don’t suffer. It is so gentle and powerful.

Just so I don’t praise this product too much, I will say that it won’t remove very heavy makeup on its own. I always recommend using a double cleanse method in the evening skincare routine, so don’t get tempted to try and remove everything only with this. You will end up using too much product, and that can cause tight skin afterwards.

Conclusion about Apivita Cleansing Creamy Foam

Apivita Cleansing Creamy Foam is a great product! It is perfect for any skin type – it doesn’t dry out or irritate if you use it properly.

You can use it for both morning and evening routines, and it lasts forever.

The packaging is pretty with the dark brown bottle. It reminds me of the old apothecary bottles that I’m obsessed with. Also, the fact that the bottle contains 50% of post-consumer PET and is recyclable is just an advantage.

Another thing I like is that this brand puts a lot of focus on the environment. It works with the Earth, not against it, and it nurtures excellent values. I always like to support brands like this.

Packaging: 5/5

As I said a few times already, I REALLY like the way this product is presented.

Ingredients: 4/5

Even though I love this face wash, the essential oil in it could be a problem for some, and the scent could be too strong if you don’t like lavender.

Value: 5/5

200ml will cost you €13.60, and if you use one pump twice a day, it will last you at least four months.

Overall rating: 4.9/5

I adore this product. As I said before, the only downside could be the presence of the essential oil, and even though I love this cleanser, I will not buy it again just for the reason that I want to try something else.

What is your favourite face wash? Have you tried this product?
