About Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil

Caudalie says:

The Make-up Removing Cleansing Oil is a mix of 100% natural origin nourishing plant oils. It’s effective on all types of make-up, including waterproof. Its clean, vegan formula gently removes make-up from the face, eyes and lips.

Ingredients:

Inhelianthus Annuus (sunflower) seed oil, polyglyceryl-4 oleate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, tocopherol, parfum (fragrance).(147/071)

We can see here that it is a simple ingredient list with only a blend of a few oils, some emulsifiers, antioxidants and unnecessary perfume. The oils used here are sunflower oil, castor, sweet almond and grape seed oil.

Castor oil is a lovely addition to the product as castor oil is good at softening comedones and blocked pores. Other oils are lighter and are perfect for melting the makeup off. Antioxidant tocopherol is a standard in most skincare products.

Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate is here to emulsify the oils together, and caprylic/capric triglyceride is an emollient that smooths the skin and acts as an antioxidant.

The product has a mild almond scent that, I guess, comes from perfume, as actual almond oil doesn’t smell like anything. I think that is unnecessary, but I know people appreciate nice-smelling products.

Packaging, texture and use

Packaging

Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil comes in a sturdy bottle with a pump. It has lovely pistachio green colour, and the bottle is semi-transparent, so we can see how much product is left. On the front of the bottle is writing in French and English, saying that it’s a blend of sweet almond and castor oils and suitable for all skin types and both face and eyes. It also has a symbol of 100% natural ingredients and that the bottle is recyclable.

The pump dispenser gives out a lovely amount of oil, and I usually use two pumps for the whole face, but that’s individual for everyone.

Texture

The oil is very lightweight and smooth. It goes on the skin smoothly, and when mixed with a bit of water, it turns into a milky consistency. I find that the oil doesn’t drag on the face as some other oil cleansers did. It spreads smoothly and melts the makeup effortlessly.

Use

Caudalie recommends:

Warm 3 doses of Cleansing Oil in the palm of your hands and massage into dry skin, with your eyes closed. Add some water to emulsify then rinse with plenty of water.

As I said, I think three pumps are too much for my face, so I only use two, but otherwise, I use the product very similar to what they recommend. The only thing I don’t do is warm up the oil in my hands. Generally, I avoid rubbing my products between my palms as I find it wasteful and like my palms get more product than my face.

I pump out two doses, and with a beauty therapist movement, I evenly distribute the oil between my palms and apply it to my face. Firstly, I make sure I spread the product evenly over my skin and then add water to emulsify it.

Once it’s a milky consistency, it rubs in even easier, and I rub well to melt all of my makeup. Once done, I rinse it with water, and it rinses out almost completely. Of course, I go with a gel cleanser afterwards, but I am impressed at how easy it rinses with only water.

Who is Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil for

As it says on the packaging, this product is a fantastic option for all skin types. Unless you know you react to perfumes or some of the other ingredients in here, I think you would like the product. If you are looking for a product that can remove eye makeup and face makeup and you don’t want a lot of ingredients or mineral oils, Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil is for you.

My experience with Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil

I like this product. I have been using it for a couple of months, and it works great. When I first started using it, I didn’t like the scent, as I found it too strong. But that was because most of my skincare products are fragrance-free, and I’m not used to fragranced cosmetics. Now, after a few months, I can say I enjoy the smell, and I don’t mind it as I’m rinsing the product anyway.

I love the ability of this product to take off mascara and eye makeup. I usually use a separate eye makeup remover, but when I used it up, I used Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil, and it did a fantastic job. It melts a few layers of mascara with no problem and doesn’t sting my eyes. Also, it doesn’t make my vision blurry as some oil cleansers can.

I use the oil in a way that I first apply two pumps onto dry skin and work it in to spread it evenly everywhere. I like that it doesn’t drag my skin when I do that but rather glides effortlessly. Then, I add water and make a milky emulsion that I rub in to melt all the makeup.

Lastly, I rinse with lukewarm water, and most of the product comes out alongside the makeup and dirt. And, of course, I finish the cleansing with my gel cleanser. At the moment, I’m using Bioderma Sensibio Face Wash Review.

Conclusion

I’m not the biggest fan of natural cosmetics, as they gave me a lot of irritation in the past, but I love this product. It is a great introductory product for the brand at a higher price point. And this bottle lasts for a couple of months using 2-3 pumps every evening.

This product confirmed my love for oil cleansers as the first step in my double cleansing method. It melts the makeup with such ease, and the mild scent it has makes it a lovely spa-like experience every evening.

I would recommend Caudalie Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil to anyone looking for a simple, gentle oil cleanser that does the job. And if you never used or tried an oil cleanser, this would make for a great first option.

Packaging: 5/5

I love the design with a lovely pistachio green colour and the fact that it’s a pump bottle. Also, I like that the bottle is a bit transparent, so I can see how much product I have left. The pump gives out a nice amount of product, making it easy to dose.

Ingredients: 4/5

I love how simple the ingredient list is, with only eight ingredients. But I feel that they could’ve done it without the perfume. That being said, I understand they’re a luxury brand and want to provide their customers with a lovely experience using their products.

Value: 4/5

For 150ml, you will pay around €20, depending on where you shop. I think that it could be cheaper for what you get, but regardless, I like the product and will probably be repurchasing.

Overall: 4.3

So far, this is the best oil makeup remover I have tried and will definitely be repurchasing, especially if I find it on offer.
