Q+A Niacinamide Daily Toner Review

Today, I’m bringing you a Q+A Niacinamide Daily Toner review of a product that’s becoming increasingly popular. And rightly so. Q+A Niacinamide daily toner has been a great addition to my skincare routine for the last few months.

About Q+A

Q+A is a newish brand that’s been having a little boom recently. They are a family-run company founded in 2013, but I feel like they are just getting big now. They say they are a natural, clean and ingredient-focused skincare brand on a mission to demystify skincare. Also, they pride themselves on the fact that they are a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brand (except for a few moisturisers containing beeswax). To support that claim, they don’t distribute their products on territories that require animal testing.

About Q+A Niacinamide Daily Toner

Q+A says: ‘The Niacinamide found in our Daily Toner is an essential vitamin our body can’t produce. It helps to calm redness and blemishes whilst minimising the appearance of pores. ‘

I must say that what they claim is true. The product does exactly what it says it would do.

Ingredients

Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xylitol, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Japanese Honeysuckle) Extract, Betaine, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid.

If you read any of my previous reviews, you will know that there are a couple of ingredients that I avoid using in my skincare routine. Those are bad alcohols, perfumes and most essential oils.

And I’m happy to confirm that this product doesn’t have any of them.

The main star ingredients of this product are niacinamide, aloe vera and hyaluronic acid.

I already wrote about two of them so if you want, check my previous posts.

But in short, niacinamide is a vitamin b3, and it has anti-blemish, anti-wrinkle, and skin-soothing properties. It also helps out evens skin tone and minimises the appearance of pores.

Hyaluronic acid is just a superstar ingredient. It rejuvenates, hydrates and promotes healthy skin. It is probably the most important ingredient in skin care products for hydrating skin.

I haven’t written about aloe vera yet, but, in short, it is hydrating our skin while simultaneously creating a protective barrier from sun and pollutants. It is rich in vitamins and minerals (including vitamins A and E), which is why it is a fantastic hydrator.

Packaging, texture and use

Packaging

Q+A have products with very attractive packaging. The toner has a nice vibrant green colour. And what is very clever about the company is that they put a little checklist on the side of the bottle that helps us decide if this product is for us and shows us what we can expect from it.

Texture

The texture is the same as with any other toner – very liquid. There isn’t too much to be said about that.

Use

They say to apply a few drops to a cotton pad and gently apply them to the skin to help remove makeup and skin impurities.
And that’s exactly what I have been doing, am and pm. I would say it takes a bit more than just a few drops.

Who is Q+A Niacinamide Daily Toner for

As we can see from their checklist, Q+A Niacinamide daily toner is suitable for all skin types, from stress and sensitivity to oily and everything in between.
It is great for providing hydration but also for calming and pore-minimising effects. Oily skins would greatly benefit from this product as it has oil-balancing properties. And every skin type can benefit from extra hydration.

My experience with Q+A Niacinamide Daily Toner

After using up two bottles of this product, I can finally say that I gave it enough time to test it out. Firstly, it lasts a good while. One bottle lasted me about a month and a half, and I used it twice daily. So having used two bottles means I tested this product for about three months. And as this toner was the only product I changed in my routine, I am sure of the effect it had.

The first thing I noticed is that it reduced the redness on the face. Ironically, immediately after applying, it made the redness worse (but that’s just my skin reacting to everything), but a few minutes later, the redness went away.

Secondly, it reduced the number of breakouts I had. Now that I stopped using it, I notice more breakouts appearing. I put that due to the anti-inflammatory effect of niacinamide. It also made my skin tone look more even.

And as far as minimising pores goes, I can’t say it made them invisible. But I do know that that is impossible anyway. Our pores aren’t doors we can open or close as we please, so I accepted that I will always have them. But I have to say that I did notice them being somewhat tighter than they were. So I’m taking that as a win.

Conclusion

Yet again, another great product. I will have to write a bad review for something because you’ll think I love every product I try.

Nevertheless, this is a good, affordable product that will suit pretty much every skin type. But especially oily skins. Niacinamide has an amazing ability to balance the oil production in the skin, so it will greatly benefit anyone with a combination or oily skin. But, also, if you are fighting acne, its anti-inflammatory properties will help reduce the breakouts and the redness that usually accompanies them.

Packaging: 5/5

The whole range of products looks beautiful in their colourful packages, and it’s really easy to notice them on the self. It is also helpful they put short information about the main ingredient on the front of the bottle. And, also the checklists for which skin type will benefit and what the product actually does are great tools for anyone trying to find a product for themselves.

The way of dispensing the product is pretty simple but effective.

Ingredients: 5/5

As I said above, this toner doesn’t have ingredients that avoid, and I appreciate that. It also has a balanced mix of ingredients that will do what they’re meant to do. You won’t get super special ingredients, but the basics are there.

Value: 5/5

For the price of €9.12, I don’t think we can ask for anything more. It lasts for a month and a half with using it twice a day. And it gives the promised results. So I am happy with my purchase of this product.

Overall: 5/5

I don’t think I have anything more to say. It is a fantastic product for a great price. It should be a staple in everyone’s skincare cabinet.
